Prices are per aid. Most people with a loss in both ears are fitted with two, which improves clarity in noise and helps you locate where sound is coming from. If only one ear needs help, we fit one and charge for one.

Private Versus NHS: What You Are Paying For
NHS hearing aids in England are free, including batteries and repairs, and they are good devices. What you buy privately is choice and speed: a wider range of manufacturers and styles, rechargeable and Bluetooth options, cosmetically smaller devices, and an appointment within days rather than months. If your needs are straightforward and you are content to wait, the NHS route is a perfectly reasonable decision and we will say so.

Does More Expensive Mean I Hear Better?
Not in the simple sense. Every tier we fit will make speech audible. The difference is how the device behaves when the situation gets hard: several people talking, a noisy pub, wind outdoors, music with wide dynamics. Higher tiers use more processing channels and better directional microphones to separate the voice you want from everything else. If your life is mostly quiet, paying for premium processing may not change your day. We would rather fit you well at £1,195 than oversell you at £2,295.
